Happy Mother’s Day! I was blessed with a wonderful loving Mother. She is perfect in every way. I hope and pray I can be a great woman and mother like her. Today was a wonderful Mother’s Day. Evan took this pic of me with my kiddos in front of our house. I know, I really should have gone and knocked on my neighbors door to have them take a picture of the whole fam. Sorry Evan. But here I am with all my kiddos. My biggest blessings in my life. Aren’t they cute? I count my blessings that I get to be their Mom. Life is never boring…always a new adventure around the corner. And look I can use this for Project 52. That is good, seeing how I am already behind! Oh, and the baby that Piper is holding is her baby doll. No I didn’t have another baby! Ha!

Last year I read about so many photographers doing the Project 52. What is it? Well, someone came up with the idea of setting a goal to take a picture of themselves with one or more of their children. Why? Because I think that so many of us photographers( or Mom’s) realize that we have so much fun capturing moments with others in the pics but never force ourselves to be in the pictures. I admit, I am much more comfortable behind the camera. I know the natural thing would be to start something like this in January along with New year’s resolution. But let’s face it, Christmas wiped me out and I am just know thinking about this. So I decided to start with Spring Break and will go through out the year ending with Spring Break 2011. The goal is to have 52 pictures of me with one or more of my children or my hubby, or loved one. I will then hope to make a book out of those pictures. Hopefully, it will be a wonderful keepsake and proof that I was actually there and a part of my children’s lives. (haha). The pictures may be candid, perhaps some posed and traditional while others may be documenting a trip or accomplishment of the kiddos.

So anyone out there want to join me in this goal? That’s right, I am challenging you to do it as well. Don’t be intimidated. The pictures don’t need to be fancy. But try and take a picture each week for a year. Save those photos in a special folder so you have them all collected together. In a year from now I will ask if anyone has followed along. For anyone that actually has been doing it I will put their names in for a drawing for a free shoot for you and your loved ones . That’s right, it could be a win win situation. Don’t get discouraged if you miss a week or two here and there. I would have to say if you get 30 pictures or more you could call it a success. So get out there and take some pictures. That’s right, it’s a challenge.

And to start things off I will post my pic for Week One of my Project. I chose this goofy picture of myself with my son Parker because well, lets face it, we are a bit goofy. But for me it is a wonderful memory of a fun day at the beach.
