Sweet Sailor

I must say, in my life, I have always felt closest to God when I have had a newborn in the house.  I could spend an hour explaining this, but I think Mothers out there can understand.  Perhaps, this is one of the reasons this Amazing Mom has brought in her 15th child to her home!    Yes, this wonderful Mother and hubby have 15 children.  I believe 13 live at home.  No, she didn’t give birth to all, many have been adopted, many have disabilities.  But I have found all are welcome in their home.  This is their newest sweet babe…

I have 6 children.  I love having lots of children around.  But I do not recommend it for all.  Is that bad to say?  When I was pregnant with my last I realized how much I wanted her.  To have a big family, I believe the Mom has to want those children so badly!  She must have a huge amount of fight in her.  It is not for the weary.  You have to fight to get them here, whether it is morning sickness or through adoption.  Once here, you have to work harder then you ever thought necessary; to feed them, bath them, protect them, love them, educate them and the list goes on and on.

Is it worth it?  Oh, YES!  It may sound cliche but it is true when they say the love just multiplies.  I always loved bringing home a newborn and seeing how my older children would just go goo-goo for the baby.  Instant love, instant bonding.  I loved visiting with this Mother, whose name happens to be Sandi too;  it is her fifteenth child and I was so touched by how she gushed over little Sailor.  She was so happy and so excited to have this little one in her life.  And hurray for Sailor that she has found so much love!  She deserves it!
